Benchworks Equips FUZE Field Marketing Team With Custom Web Tool

CHESTERTOWN, MD—Benchworks maintains a comprehensive relationship with FUZE Beverage and most recently designed, developed, and launched a robust web marketing tool for the FUZE field marketing team.

The FUZE field marketing team is responsible for promoting the FUZE and NOS drink brands at scheduled events around the country, ranging from Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to South by Southwest to NASCAR races. In addition to events, the field marketing team spends a great deal of time visiting retail drop-offs. Whether they are at an event or a store, the goal is always to keep the product in front of the audience by offering samples. 

FUZE needed a tool that could manage all the data related to events and site visits in order to track the success of the field marketing team. For each trip a marketer makes there are associated event details, attendance numbers, costs, sample quantities, sample feedback, and photos that must be logged. Prior to Benchworks’ development of an online web tool, these event recaps involved piles of paperwork and spreadsheets to record information - a stumbling block FUZE needed to overcome.

After reviewing and analyzing multiple data spreadsheets and reports in FUZE’s original recap and tracking system, Benchworks began building a tool that is linked to the FUZE POS Online Ordering System, a web-based solution that Benchworks also created for the client. The FUZE POS Online Ordering System is an inventory management program in which FUZE products are ordered, shipped, and fulfilled all in real time by Benchworks who also ensures the client receives an order confirmation and shipping notices for each order placed. The POS System alone has over 400 users from FUZE employees to bottlers. Field marketers rely on having samples available, so being able to place orders and log sampled quantities in a system linked to the POS System allows for a seamless process in which all of the client’s data is in a central location. 

The Field Marketing Web Tool was launched in early June and training with FUZE managers and subsequent use by the field marketing team has proven that the customized web tool is a success for the client. In addition to extensive training with FUZE managers, Benchworks included in the Field Marketing Web Tool a page of resources and information as a value-added service for those who would be using the Tool. Field marketers simply log in to enter event details, samples distributed, upload photos, and other data and managers can log in any time to review their teams’ data, measure the information against their budget and performance goals, and download PDF reports. The ability to accurately and quickly review budgets and manage cost tracking has been a revolutionary solution for the FUZE team. FUZE needed a solution that could help streamline the reports and information of the field marketing team and Benchworks combined technology and creativity to bring a customized automated process to their client that has all but eliminated spreadsheets and piles of paperwork.
