New KidZone Online Game Launched by Benchworks
Saturday, August 15th - 2009CHESTERTOWN, MD—Benchworks has been working closely with a large pharmaceutical company specializing in children’s ADHD medications in their efforts to launch a website dedicated to children who are prescribed with specific ADHD medication. The ADHD medication provider believes it is important for children and their parents to have resources at their fingertips that provide education about the ADHD condition. Just as important is ensuring the ADHD child has support and tools that will enable them to succeed in school.
In response to these needs, Benchworks worked in conjunction with an online game development company with expertise in children’s online games to create the KidZone, a back to school online game that children and their parents can access after receiving a prescription. The game is an interactive second world for the child in which they have their own avatar and experience life from home to school in the virtual world.
Knowing the needs of ADHD children and the goals of the pharmaceutical company, Benchworks focused on making the online virtual world one that teaches memory and concentration to ADHD children. The combination of Benchworks’ creative services and online tool development experience with that of the online game development company resulted in a game for ADHD children that is both entertaining and educational. In the game, children can practice these skills in experiences that involve math, time, spelling, and games like Sudoku that require focus. Throughout their time online, children earn points that translate into coins they can use to make virtual purchases.
The new KidZone website is ideal for parents and children to use prior to the school year as a means of preparation and it also offers games that supplement schoolwork and help ADHD children succeed as students.
