CHESTERTOWN, MD--The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the largest regional 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers. Since their founding 40 years ago, the goal has been to improve water quality by reducing pollution. CBF's motto, Save the Bay, has been the battle cry for that goal.
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has a strong online presence with a website that educates site visitors about CBF's initiatives, provides outlets and opportunities for site visitors to get involved in making a difference, and shares regular news and story updates for CBF supporters. With over 200,000 members and thousands more who are supporters of clean water initiatives and who have an affinity to the Chesapeake Bay, CBF wanted an online store with branded CBF items available for purchase so Cheasapeake Bay lovers can show their support for CBF.
Benchworks worked with CBF to design, deploy, and host a robust online store. Benchworks also provides the CBF-branded merchandise sold on the store including apparel, accessories, and seasonal items. The online store includes photos of each item as well as a detailed description and price. For the shopper, the online store includes a user-friendly navigation and shopping cart as well as an order status page to easily track online orders and order history.
In addition to ensuring the store's architecture and design met the needs of CBF, Benchworks also provides all the fulfillment and shipping services for orders placed online. As part of the Benchworks Branding store model, both CBF and online shoppers receive the high-touch customer service and fulfillment experience provided by the Benchworks team.
The store can be accessed via a link on CBF’s website: www.cbf.org.
ABOUT CHESAPEAKE BAY FOUNDATION
From the landmark EPA study of the Chesapeake Bay in the 1970s to the first interstate Chesapeake Bay Agreement in 1983, from Maryland's historic sewage treatment bond bill in 2004 to Virginia’s comparable legislative commitment in 2005, CBF has been saving the Bay. The CBF vision is that the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers, broadly recognized as a national treasure, will be highly productive and in good health as measured by water clarity, lack of toxic contaminants, and abundance of natural filters in the water and on the land. www.cbf.org
