CHESTERTOWN, MD—Benchworks is a full-service marketing, branding, and creative services firm based on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and has recently expanded its graphic design department with the addition of a new graphic designer.

Blaine Skilling joined Benchworks in January with a wide range of efficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Suite programs, Quark, and Dreamweaver. He was most recently doing freelance production work through his own company, SpeakEasy Design and contributed to the creation of branding and marketing materials for various organizations. He also gained experience as a graphic designer with Alliance Communications and built his design foundation at the Art Institute of Tampa where he earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree.

In his role on Benchworks’ graphic design team, Blaine will work with project managers to create collateral such as logos, marketing materials, and website designs for the company’s clients including those in the pharmaceutical, beverage, non-profit, tourism, and education industries.

In addition to working on design projects, Blaine enjoys spending time on the water. He has spent significant time over the past seven years navigating the Eastern Seaboard and Gulf of Mexico on motor yachts ranging in size from 60’ to 200’ in size. Although his career demands a creative mindset his passion for navigation and engineering has lead to some great adventures! Residing in sunny Florida for the past five years had its perks, but Blaine is excited to be back in the area with friends and family where he can begin a new phase of his career at Benchworks.
